Ingredients of Doi Potol

  1. It's 250 gms of parwal (pointed gourd).
  2. It's 2 of big onions (finely chopped).
  3. Prepare 1 tbsp of gin-gar paste.
  4. It's 1 of tomato (finely chopped).
  5. It's 2 tbsp of coriander powder.
  6. It's 1 tsp of haldi.
  7. You need 1 tbsp of sabzi masala.
  8. You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
  9. It's to taste of Salt.
  10. You need 1/2 tsp of garam masala.
  11. It's of Oil to deep fry.
  12. You need 3 tbsp of curd.
  13. Prepare 1 tsp of zeera.

This is Bengali Dishes for Doi Potol recipe. It is the Bengali recipes Dahi Potol/Parwal is one of the best Bengali recipe. Potol was a vegetable I was never fond of but summer heat brings back memories of patol and grandmothers. I however did not buy potol again, twice in one summer is enough I decided.

Doi Potol instructions

  1. Rinse and cut parwal in a way that it is joined together. See pic..
  2. Deep fry them and keep aside..
  3. In a kadhai put oil and let zeera splutter..
  4. Then add onions and fry till golden..
  5. Add gin-gar paste and sautè till raw aroma goes off..
  6. Add tomatoes to it and stir for a min..
  7. Then add all dry spices along with salt, and fry till it starts leaving oil..
  8. Then add water and bring it to boil..
  9. Lower the flame and add curd while stirring it continuosly..
  10. Then add parwal to it and cook futher till u get ur desired consistency..
  11. At last add garam masala and stir..
  12. Garnish with coriander leaves..
